National Juvenile Indoor Championships, Magherafelt, 4 and 5 April

METRO MEDAL JOY FOR ANDREW BRENNAN, ALAN GREY AND SARAH HAWKSHAW.

Metro St Brigids’ Andrew Brennan was man of the moment at the National Juvenile Indoor Championships in the brand new multisports hall in Magherafelt, Co Derry.

Brennan was in blistering form and grabbed gold in the U19 boys 800 metres, after a powerful display of front running that left the competition trailing.

Earlier on the day Alan Grey and Sarah Hawkshaw also won medals in the 800m in their age groups.

Grey had qualified in a very competitive heat in the boys U18 800m, then smashed his PB by 5 seconds in the final to finish 3rd and bring a bronze medal home.

Sarah Hawkshaw also had to work hard for her medal in the girls U15 800m event. She stormed up the field in a scorching last lap to claim another bronze for MSB.
